My dad always said that the best bottle of wine is the one you like. A friend of mine won't drink anything under a certain dollar amount. I agree with dear old dad. Who cares if it is only $4 a bottle of wine? If it tastes good, great!
Try this: buy a cheaper bottle of wine, say for example Lindemans Cawarra ($8) and put it in a bottle belonging to a more expensive bottle of wine, like Penfolds Bin 128 Shiraz. I bet the friend who won't drink the $8 will still like the wine in the more expensive bottle.
Wine snobs are many, unfortunately they usually don't really have the knowledge - just the attitude. Don't feel embarrassed for enjoying a cheaper bottle of wine.
